INTRO TO THE SOUTH RIVER WATERSHED

The South River is relatively small, low-gradient watershed located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. There are several small streams that feed into it and provide cold water habitat for rainbow trout and smallmouth bass year round. The South River combines with the North River and Middle River to form the South Fork of the Shenandoah River.
